Heads up for Summer 2004

AileyCamp
AileyCamp, a six-week summer program administrated by Cal Performances on the UC Berkeley campus, uses dance as a vehicle for developing self-esteem, discipline and critical thinking skills among middle school students. Each AileyCamp program culminates in a performance at Zellerbach Hall; the 2003 AileyCamp performance is scheduled for July 31. Applications to this summer’s program, which is open to middle school children from the Oakland and Berkeley public schools, were accepted through mid-March. Families interested the 2004 AileyCamp should call (510) 642-4630 in the fall.

Academic Talent Development Program
The deadline for applications to this highly desirable summer program was in February for secondary school students, March for elementary students. However, there is a possibility that there are a few slots available for this summer. For information check the “courses open list” at atdp. berkeley.edu or call (510) 642-8308. Families interested in the program for 2004 should request an application in January.
