Half- and Full-Day Camps A wide variety of hands-on science-exploration camps on themes including animals, dinosaurs, math, wizards, science theater, exploring the Bay, lights and lasers, electric gadgetry, geometry and digital art, and more. Saturday Business Academy prepares 9th- and 10th-grade students for academic and economic success through fun and challenging entrepreneurship, economics, and finance projects. Preference given to youth who come from low-income families, attend public schools, and/or would be the first in their family to graduate from a four-year college.

Academic Talent Development Program
The deadline for applications to this highly desirable summer program was in February for secondary school students, March for elementary students. However, there may still be a few slots available for this summer. For information, check the “courses open list” at atdp.Berkeley.edu or call (510) 642-8308. Families interested in the program for 2005 should request an application in January.


Bay Area Writing Project’s Young Writers’ Camp
In three-week writing sessions — offered in Albany, Fremont, Larkspur, Oakland, and Walnut Creek — students explore their writing interests and learn about the craft of writing from exemplary classroom teachers.
