'True Blue' Bears hope to build on last season's gridiron successes
Fall semester events

Poised, young, and very athletic, the Golden Bears are determined to keep their momentum of success going as they launch their second season under football coach Jeff Tedford.

Last year Cal achieved the greatest single-season turnaround in the country, earning a 7-5 record and Pac-10 Coach of the Year honors for Tedford. The Bears defeated three ranked opponents on the road for the first time ever, and finished the season with a decisive victory over Stanford.

With one of the best recruiting seasons ever, Tedford has brought youthful firepower to the 2003 Bears. “It is a testament to where Coach Tedford is taking this program,” said defensive backs coach J.D. Williams.
