Campus YouthWorks program celebrates successful summer
YouthWorks participants
Local youth and their UC staff supervisors were honored at the annual UC Berkeley/YouthWorks Summer Employment Recognition Luncheon held on August 23 at the Haas Pavilion Club Room. Berkeley Mayor Shirley Dean and Chancellor Robert Berdahl commended the 54 student employees for their exemplary quality of work in various campus departments and their 45 supervisors who provided job training and mentoring. As part of their University job experience, the students also participated in a first-time "Higher Education/Career Options" workshop designed to provided information and techniques in planning for their futures.
